Oak Hill Community Connections

Building Hope Together

Oak Hills Community Connections

is a community-based nonprofit created to provide a nurturing environment where people come together to support, encourage, and offer access to resources during life’s most trying moments.

We believe in the power of collaboration and community to light the way through life’s challenges, fostering a sense of belonging and strength for all who join us.

People seek short-term housing for a number of reasons. Some experience a sudden change in circumstances, while others come after a long and weighty decision to leave a dangerous or unhealthy relationship. Whatever their reason, individuals and families in need of short-term housing have nowhere else to turn. And this need is growing.

Steele County currently has the third highest homeless rate in all Southeast and South- Central counties in Minnesota. Only Olmsted and Blue Earth counties report higher homelessness, and these two counties have significantly higher populations.

Often, individuals and families experiencing housing insecurity have challenges maintaining employment, physical and mental health needs, food security, and more. These are solvable problems, and we’re committed to being part of the solution. We’re excited to share the following plan for Oak Hill Community Connections with you. It’s big! More importantly, this plan has been thoughtfully developed to provide comprehensive support services uniting a host of collaborative partners to work together for the benefit of those turning to us for help.

Together we can help individuals and families work toward a stable and sustainable future far better than any of us on our own. We hope you’re inspired by these plans. Join us.

“When I heard about the Oak Hill Project and who was involved, I nearly broke down in tears. Community Pathways has been critical to helping my family with food and clothing, but we are also working to find stable housing, mental health resources, and basic affordable medical care among other things. As a single parent, transportation and time are huge barriers for me. Thank you for making this project happen.”
